Newcastle midfielder to miss rest of the season

Joelinton is unlikely to play for Newcastle again this season after picking up a knee injury.
The 28-year-old midfielder missed the win over Ipswich last weekend and has returned home to Brazil for rest and recuperation.
Going into the weekend trip to Brighton, the Magpies lie in third place in the Premier League and are looking good for a return to the Champions League.
Manager Eddie Howe said: “With Joe you never rule him out. He’s so motivated to try and come back.
Eddie Howe on our remaining fixtures:
“You want to be in control of your destiny. I think with four games to go we are, but we’re very aware it can change in one round of games. There’s no let up for us. Our run of results has been impressive but what we don’t want to do is tail… pic.twitter.com/uX3TqXW24n

“We sought specialist opinion, and the opinion was it was nothing serious but he needed a period of rest so he’s now in Brazil.
“We’ll wait and see if we can get him back before the end of the season but the likelihood is probably not.”
Lewis Miley, Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock are among the players in contention to replace Joelinton in midfield.
Howe had some positive injury news as defender Sven Botman is fit to feature after his return from injury last weekend.
“Yeah, he came through (fine),” the manager said. “He’s trained well this week, looks good and so a big positive to have him back.”
